Modular Production Systems and Skid Mounted Process Units
EN-FAB Inc delivers modular production systems and skid mounted process units with complete engineering, fabrication, and testing for flexible, efficient, and fast deployment in oil and gas operations.
Our experience in the design and fabrication of skid mounted and modular production systems spans over 35 years. EN-FAB provide fully integrated, modular process skids for many applications including Fuel Gas Pressure Reduction Systems, Chemical Injection Systems, LACT (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer) units Fuel Gas Conditioning Systems. AI-Powered Packaged Production Systems.
Advantages vs. Build-on-site
Modular plants offer many benefits over a conventional build on-site facility including, fewer safety concerns during construction, ease of future modification and the flexibility to pivot in the direction of market change by adding additional modules to meet increased demand or modifying existing facilities in response to more profitable market initiatives.
What is a modular plant?
Modular systems can be comprised of many unit operations contained on a single skid or multiple skids that are connected on site to form a large process system. They are delivered as complete turnkey structures, that include all process equipment – pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, instrumentation, wiring, valves and piping, mounted within structural steel frame. This frame serves as a support during shipping and also provides access to the equipment for operation and maintenance purposes..
Fabrication
Each self-contained unit is constructed off-site in controlled, conditions where materials can be securely stored to prevent damage or deterioration.
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Testing prior to delivery, ensures equipment arrives production ready expediting start-up time.

Engineering design and fabrication of equipment for onshore and offshore production facilities has been the mainstay of EN-FAB’s business. EN-FAB personnel are particularly adept in design, engineering, and construction of production equipment such as; 2 & 3 phase separators, heater-treaters, desalters, demulsifiers, glycol dehydration units, fuel gas skids, vapor recovery units, etc. Qualified service technicians are available for start-up service and commissioning. This combination of unique abilities has enabled EN-FAB, Inc. to be a leader in supplying Early Production Facilities and Systems.
An early production facility is a complete facility to produce oil and gas and dispose the produced water. This facility is usually located on land, but barge facilities are also common. The size range is usually between 5,000 to 60,000 barrels per day. All the equipment for treating the oil, gas, and water such as separators, heaters, scrubbers, power supplies, lighting, water treatment, etc. is provided as a package. The facility is usually all skid-mounted and is put in place, interconnected, and commissioned by EN-FAB, Inc.
Early production facilities are becoming very important to the oil companies due to the necessity to get a field or some part of the field on line and producing in a minimum amount of time. EN-FAB can provide a complete production facility in short time, including all the equipment to treat the oil, gas, and water, plus the equipment for power generation, lighting, control rooms and site design.
EN-FAB desalters can help prevent expensive shutdowns by providing fast process recovery following upsets and are proven to be ideal for desalting challenging, crude grades.
When crude oil is brought to the surface by whatever means, it contains many undesirable impurities, including salts, suspended solids and water soluble trace metals/slits, iron oxides, sand etc. The EN-FAB desalter provides efficient separation of undesirable impurities, suspended in crude feedstocks.
The salt content in the crude oil varies depending on source of the crude oil. When a mixture from many crude oil sources is processed in refinery, the salt content can vary greatly.
The Purpose of Desalting
- EN-FAB desalters efficiently remove undesirable impurities, especially salts and water, from crude oil prior to distillation.
- Inorganic salts can become decomposed in crude oil preheat exchangers and heaters. As a result, hydrogen chloride gas is formed which condenses to liquid hydrochloric acid at overhead system of the distillation column, damaging expensive internals and downstream equipment.
- Sand or silt can cause significant damage due to abrasion or erosion to pumps, pipelines, etc.
- The calcium naphthanate compound in the crude unit residue stream, if not removed can result in the production of lower grade coke.
- To remove Metals which may poison the Reformer Catalyst.
- To avoid lengthy and expensive plant shut downs and achieve more then average Plant Life.
